National Palace of Sintra

Previous Next

This palace probably has it´s origin in primitive Moorish palace of walis. Current traces from two steps works: the first, in the reign of John I (XV century), the second in the reign of Manuel I (sixteenth century).
It has the largest collection of Mudejar tiles of the country. It is dominated by two large twin chimneys that crown the kitchen and up the “ex-libris” of Sintra.
