Is one of the best preserved and least crowded beaches in the Algarve. It’s a completely uninhabited area of the Ria Formosa.

Rare sanctuary, the Desert Island invites to tranquility and rest.
About 10 km of silence and quiet characterize this place, where everything seems to fit perfectly between the land, sea and air.

Access is by sea from the pier Porta do Sol or Sun Gate, in Faro. It’s always worth going through the labyrinths of sand and mud flats of the estuary.

Porto Santo, an island that is a beach in the middle of an ocean. With 9 km of white sand, where you can find some hotels and restaurants, we have the ideal setting for holiday relaxation, with lots of sun and sea bathing.

But you can find some activities for the rare rainy days. Sports such as diving, fishing, golf and horse riding. The famous Columbus House Museum, where he lived, has the Cardina Museum or you can visit the Quinta das Palmeiras, with exotic plants and birds.

It is in Vila Baleira which is most of the population, commerce and entertainment. It is a quiet island, except in the summer, which fills with tourists looking the famous beaches and nightlife, with increasing beach bars and at the docks, with parties every weekend.

With a stable and dry weather, usually warm enough to swim all year round, but the ideal is to visit April to September.

The offer runs from the hotel to the Residential Resort 5 * in
quiet island with beautiful beaches and clear sea.

One of our stunning spots and must visit place.

Strong northern winds are predominant during summer time (June–August) as well as smaller north-west swells, making this beach ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing. During winter (especially December), the predominant winds are from the east, and swells increase in size, making it a perfect spot for surfing, with multiple beach-breaks providing powerful lefts and rights. There are also several surfcamps and surfschools in the area that provide accommodation and services including rentals, repairs and surfing classes.

From the early twentieth century became the most important Oporto´s coastal resort. With a landscape embellished by Pergola da Foz, one of the most iconic picture postcards of the Oporto’s city. This cement balustrade was built around 1930 and works as a privileged viewpoint over the sea. The entire surrounding of this beach holds the attention of tourists, either by the sumptuous staircase or by the well cared terraces´s bars.
